Cover letters that sound like you
Hiring teams skim. They want proof you read the posting and that you actually did the work you claim.
Name the company and the role in the first paragraph. Generic “your team” letters get discarded.
Reference one real role from your history. Do not invent a title to match the job ad.
If you lack a skill, omit it. Do not pad with percentages you cannot explain on a call.
Keep it to a screen of text. The resume carries the bullets; the letter carries intent.
